We are so proud of our team for their continued commitment to giving back! #SummitGivesBack #TeamSummit
Summit’s philanthropic activities are an important priority of the company and its culture. When determining how Summit’s philanthropic efforts will be allocated each year, we take great care in selecting non-profit groups and organizations who will benefit the most directly from our support and whose advancement will play a significant role in making our city better.
In 2017, Summit focused its efforts on some new philanthropic initiatives, in addition to the several non-profits we’ve dedicated support to consistently over the past several years. In August, Summit’s Public Relations team organized a Back to School Drive for the children of Sulzbacher Center, an organization of which Summit recently completed the construction of a new location. In total Summit collected an estimated $10,000 worth of school supplies for the young residents, including not only the typical supplies such as journals, pens, pencils, etc., but also scientific calculators, headphones, and backpacks. Summit continued its hands-on approach in December by donating approximately $1,000 worth of toys towards the JSO’s annual Santa Parade Toy Drive. Summit Owners, Marc and Nicole Padgett, along with other Summit employees participated in the parade which took place in the Oceanway neighborhood, assisting JSO officers as they personally handed out hundreds of gifts to children lining the streets to see Santa.
In addition to these efforts, Summit has a policy of contribution matching for employees. Each employee can submit one request per year for Summit to match a donation to a charity/non-profit of the employee’s choice. In honor of this policy, Summit contributed to the National MS Society, matching the entries of employees who participated in the organization’s annual Bike to End MS event. Summit provided support to the Promise to Kate Foundation as well serving as the title sponsor for their annual fundraiser. Summit also both contributed and participated in the Jacksonville Greater Kingfish Tournament which supports the Jacksonville Marine Charities, and the Vestcor 5K Bridges Run that supports the Vestcor Family Foundation. Summit has actively supported all of these organizations since 2014.
