60 year old disabled veteran, Steve Hughes, rode his bicycle from California to Florida to raise awareness and money for veteran service organizations. He started in September and has completed his cross country bicycle ride here in Jacksonville on Sunday, November 18th.
Hughes’ ride, http://iridewithsteve.com/, benefits veteran service organizations: Project Hero, Travis Mills Foundation, and Air Force Enlisted Village.
Summit volunteers helped cheer Steve across the finish line along with WRH Realty at Ciel Luxury Apartments that are currently under construction. In conjunction with the finish line celebration, 20 local children received free bicycles that were built at the event by volunteers.
