We are taking a closer look at the multifamily construction market in Northeast Florida, and what makes this area ideal for new developments. Summit has several projects under construction in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and surrounding communities.
Summit has been building in Northeast Florida since we started in 2007, and we’ve always had some projects under construction here, but this region has been busier than usual. There are multifamily developments under construction in every corner of Duval County, and new opportunities are popping up in the surrounding communities in St. Johns, Nassau, and Clay Counties.
Northeast Florida, also known as Florida’s First Coast, is in need of all levels of housing from affordable housing to Class ‘A’ luxury to fill the needs of our existing population as well as the incoming population growth.
Jacksonville is a great home base for Summit because we have a good source for labor in construction, and we have been able to foster long lasting relationships here with local subcontractors, architects and developers.
Northeast Florida has a great quality of life because of the climate and access to resources like the beaches, the St. Johns River, parks, major employers, entertainment and historic districts. There is a little bit of everything and it doesn’t hurt that it is much more affordable to live here than some other markets.
Downtown Jacksonville is changing and there is a lot more room for growth that could lead to more waterfront properties for restaurants, housing, hotels and more.
